OUR LATEST SUPPORTER

Karina was born in 1977 and attended her first Louise Hay and breath work seminar at age 12.

When her Father was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2005, she searched for ways to help his symptoms and discovered Quantum-Touch (QT). After seeing the immediate effect the treatment had on his posture, which straightened completely in just one session, she decided to explore this incredible technique fully in order to be able to help him herself.

The profound results from their Quantum-Touch sessions led her on a fast track journey into exploring the most powerful energy healing methods available in the world, in order to help others.

In 2007 Karina was invited to become England’s advanced instructor for Quantum-Touch, and has instructed many large workshops internationally.

Karina spends her time teaching workshops and facilitating energy healing for others. She is able to perceive energy clearly, which is incredibly useful.

Karina has spent over 17 years teaching mindfulness, wellness and energy healing to both medical and complementary health care professionals. Her workshops are attended by Doctors, nurses, public health advisors, research scientists, CEO’s, parents, carers, charities, teachers and a variety of other professional backgrounds. She has also enjoyed teaching meditation in large corporations and has trained people from The World Health Organisation and in many prestigious places including at The British Government’s Department of Energy and Climate Change.

She is hugely passionate about teaching in charities and non profit organisations. This includes teaching Mindfulness to amazing charities such as Groundswell, who do groundbreaking work with homeless people in London, how to achieve greater health and vitality.

Additionally, she is a content creator for JAAQ, the new mental health social media platform.

Karina is also delighted to have launched Permissioning and Transformation workshops in Europe. Due to the success of this program with nurses, it now counts towards CPD points for nurses and midwives. This set of techniques has been used highly effectively for insomnia and anxiety and Karina taught these techniques to many key workers during the first lockdown.

Karina launched the UK’s first mindfulness phone line to give people without smartphones access to her meditations for free. This is being promoted by various charities.

Karina is fluent in many energy healing techniques and graduated from Tony Robbins Mastery University in 2001.

Energy healing is in her opinion the fastest and most powerful way to facilitate recovery and wellness.

Karina is a member of The British Holistic Medical Association and The College of Medicine.

I AM ME LAUNCHES LEARNING ALLIANCE RESEARCH PROJECT

i am me is proud to announce the launch of the

i am me Learning Alliance with researchers from the University of Gloucestershire and Kings College London.

The research project will look into whether a preventative approach to mental ill health reduces the number of young people that go on to develop mental illness in later life.

The purpose of the Learning Alliance is to bring together members of the public, GPs, mental health practitioners, educators, employers and young people, and involve them in all aspects of our study. This will play a vital role in ensuring that the findings of the research have a direct impact on young people’s mental health and wellbeing.

Mental health in young people is a hot topic at a local, governmental and wider cultural level. Research shows us that 50% of mental illnesses are established by the age of 14 and 75% of mental illnesses are established by the age of 24.

There are some brilliant charities set up to support young people once a referral and diagnosis have been made, but here at i am me, we are interested in understanding more about how a preventative approach to mental ill health can support a significant reduction in these statistics mentioned.

Research also tells us that there are many “lifestyle” elements such as relationships, stress, sleep and nutrition that are contributing factors towards a person’s mental health, and so we are keen to explore how, if given an opportunity to be educated and empowered in these areas, might young people go on to better cope with the challenges of modern day living.

If you’re interested in getting involved, we’d love to hear from you - hello@iammeapp.com

WE HAVE A WINNER!

We are so glad that we handed the responsibility of picking a winner for our hoodie design competition over to our brilliant judges as we loved all of them!!

We are now excited to be able to announce the winner of our hoodie design competition…

Annabel (aged 12) came up with this brilliant brain design, showing expectation vs reality on the feelings young people experience when growing up.

Some of the feedback from our judges about Annabel’s design included:

“I love the design and would wear this in a heartbeat

This would look striking on the front or back of a hoodie - very impactful and easy to read and visually understand”

The scores were really very close with Reggie’s beautiful design coming in second place and Sophie H, Sophie C and Lily B in joint third!

Thanks to all the young people that took the time to create their beautiful designs.

THE I AM ME DESIGN COMPETITION IS BACK!

After the success of the last design competition, we're excited to announce that we're bringing it back again later this year!

This year, we're going to be asking students to create a design that captures the thoughts, feelings, worries and ambitions of a young person currently growing up in today's fast paced world.

The winning design will feature on our hoodies and will once again be open to all students aged between 11-19.

We know it has been a difficult 2 years for lots of reasons and one of the ways you can support yourself is to use art as a creative outlet to help with self-expression. Anyone can express themselves through art and you do not have to be an artist.

Watch this space as more information is announced!

I AM ME LAUNCHES LOO DOOR CAMPAIGN

We don’t yet know the full impact that lockdown has had on young people. But, what we do know is that rates of self-harm are increasing.

From the work we're doing in schools and colleges, we also know that the loo cubical is a place many young people retreat to during the day when they feel unable to cope.

Please help us to get our posters on the back of as many cubicle doors in schools, colleges and universities throughout the U.K. and let every young person know they are not alone, and there is support out there for them.

The free i am me app was created to educate, enable and empower young people, between the ages of 11 and 24, to understand more about how they can proactively look after their own mental health, helping them to discover healthy coping alternatives during more challenging times.

Please get behind this initiative, and contact hello@iammeapp.com to request more information and get involved.

FOUNDER COMMITS TO COTSWOLD CHALLENGE

We are taking part in the Cotswold Challenge this June and will be walking 50k in one day with other parents of young people to raise funds for i am me, which will allow the team to supply marketing packs to those schools that lack funding. Any money raised will also help to raise awareness of i am me as a free resource.

We are always looking for new ways to spread the word about i am me, and this latest challenge will also provide a much needed boost in donations.

As a not-for-profit, i am me is 100% reliant on funding to ensure the resource remains a FREE resource for all young people. All funds go towards growing this initiative to provide as much preventative support as possible to as many young people as possible.

Funding also goes towards developing the app, working with specialists to create the tools and producing expert content, marketing of the initiative, as well as running workshops in state schools up and down the country.

If you can spare anything at all, please consider donating by clicking the link below. We appreciate your support.
